Article marketing has become a very effective technique of marketing your website online. If used in the correct way, it can generate a lot of quality and targeted visitors to your site/blog on a regular basis. But like any other method it requires hard work and practice. For proper article marketing, the following tips may be followed:
Length of the article.· The length of the articles should not be too short or too long. Various webmasters, bloggers, and newsletter publishers are always looking for fresh content from the article directories. If your article is selected by them and gets published in their site/blog or newsletter it gets great exposure. For that the articles should be of optimum length. If the articles are too long the readers won't have the patience to read the entire article. Again if it is too short, then it may be ignored by the readers. The optimum length of the article should be between 250 and 550 words.
Resource box.· The author Resource Box or Bio Box is the most important part of the article. It should contain a short description about yourself and a link to your website. As you can not advertise in the article body, this is the place where you can sell yourself. So it should be written very carefully.
Use of hyperlinks.· Though some article directories will not allow the use of hyperlinks in the body of the article, most other directories allow one to three hyperlinks in the body. Where allowed, try to get your keywords hyperlinked. This will help you to get direct visitors to your site.
Use of pen names.· You should use different pen names for different topics and niches. If your readers find that you are writing about the 'various home remedies for acne' and at the same time about different aspects of 'web hosting', they may suspect your claim to be an expert on these subjects. It is better to use different pen names for different niches.
Website content as articles.· Never submit your website content as articles. Your website content should be unique. Otherwise, the search engines may penalize your site for duplicate content and its ranking may be downgraded. When your readers visit your website through the link in the resource box or hyperlinks and if they find the same content there, they will be disappointed and may not revisit your site.
