The first mistake we all make is going on extreme diets; diets where we don’t eat anything but drink meal replacements. We all go into these extreme diets thinking we are going to our weight fast and easy. Eventually something happens where we cannot keep up that diet plan and all our efforts go down the drain. If you are a person who goes on extreme diets you need to evaluate yourself and ask yourself this one question
How many pounds do I want to lose and how long do I plan to keep them off?
Another thing we should always do while dieting is learn to like the healthy foods we are eating. Why? If we have the attitude that we are sacrificing the foods that we love and that we hate the healthy food once we reach our target weight we will go out of control. Then we gain the weight we lost back.
A big mistake we all make when dieting is setting unrealistic goals. Never think you will reach your ideal weight in a few weeks. Losing weight takes time. We should set realistic weight goals and write them out on paper. We also have to realize that there will be weeks where we won’t lose much and weeks where we will, but you have to keep your head up and remain positive.
If you find that you have been making some of these mistakes, don’t worry. We all make them, but the important thing is now you know what they are so you can avoid them. If you want to reach your ideal weight you must not give up but be consistent. All your hard work will be rewarded when you are able to fit in that size 7 pair of jeans!
