Get Traffic with Press Releases
Date Added: September 07, 2007 04:33:52 PM

There are five basic methods to for getting traffic to your website. There are directory submissions, article submissions, link exchanges, social bookmarking and the press release.

The most feared method, without a doubt is the press release. People have a tough time explaining the benefits and interesting points of the website they just labored to create. Maybe they think that a press release will not work in a particular niche or that no one will care.

There are endless reasons people can come up with to not get it done, just like there are endless reasons to not go to the dentist. It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go and it doesn’t mean that you should not do a press release. You should!

When used properly the press release can be the most powerful of all these methods.

When you’re writing your press release, first think about why you’re writing. My first answer is easy. I am writing for links and second I am writing for traffic. It does not matter if newspapers call as that is not the priority. Don’t worry about someone that may or may not call you because an interview is not the goal.

This attitude allows me to focus on the writing of the press release and not be pressured.

When writing, keep the tone unbiased in the news release as it is news and not marketing. They don’t want an advertisement. At the end make sure to direct readers to your site.

Next you need to submit it and get the word out. There are different places you can submit to for free. There are also some that can cost as much as $500. Where you submit depends on the results you hope to achieve. As with most things in life quality costs more.

A couple places for you to check would be PRWeb and PRLeap. Make sure to include your contact information in case the news agency wants to contact you.
