We have all heard about love at first sight but few have experienced it. It makes us wonder if it really exists.
The experts are divided on this question. Some say that love at first sight is strictly a hormonal reaction such as lust. Others say that it has everything to do with your psychological state at that moment.
It is most likely a combination of the two that causes us to have that moment of complete clarity and know, without a doubt, that a person that we just saw for the first time in our life is the one that we will be with for the rest of it. It requires both to be just right for us to feel it so intently.
Our hormones are what bring us to that person in the first place. Something we see in them that catches our attention. It could be their smile, their eyes or maybe it is just the way they laugh with their friends. But if you are not in the right psychological state at that moment and are not open to seeing whatever it is, then the attraction won't be there.
All of these things can happen at any place and time. You may be walking down the street and see Mr. Right walking the opposite direction on the other side or Ms. Right may be the new dental hygienist that your dentist just hired. You just never know.
In this cyber world where finding your perfect match is decided by computers, many people have become cynical about the love at first sight theory. They believe that since it hasn't happened to them it can't be true. What they neglect to calculate is that for it to happen you actually have to SEE the person. That is the one thing that a computer can't give you. The lightning bolt of realization when you see that right person for the first time. It is as if the whole world just began to make sense in that instant and you know that you were put on this earth to be with them and love them for the rest of your life.
Love at first sight does exist. It doesn't happen for everyone. Some of us have to work to find love. But for the lucky few that do experience it, they know it with all their hearts.
