When you arrive at the New York Hotel & Casino you will see the biggest “Roller Coaster Ride” staring at you right in the eye! Come on and try me. I dare you?

I sure hope you are a very brave person? I sure hope your stomach is brave?

The thrill and excitement of those people and the look on their faces when they “finally” come to rest is so exhilarating, they say, Let’s go again? They want more! But for others, they say “we tried it” I am still all in one piece, now I am ready to move on and hunt for more challenging rides in Las Vegas.

Manhattan Express Roller Coaster is open Sundays through Thursdays 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Fridays 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The cost is $10.00 each. And you must be 5’4 or taller to get on. Going up as high as 203 feet and dropping to 144 feet at speeds up to 67 mph.Ney York Hotel Casino

The Statue of Liberty: This is a nice change as she is standing still and not moving! A sense of peace after that little fun ride. Miss Liberty stands proudly on the corner of Tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd. You can’t miss her!

When entering the New York Hotel & Casino Las Vegas from the bridge walkway coming from Excalibur, this will take you directly to the shops! While there, check out the Magic Shop. They normally have a magician performing a little magic to inspire you to buy some of their products. Who knows, you may have another “Lance Burton” or “Rick Thomas” apprentice waiting to be discovered!

Check out the slot machines and the poker tables. Maybe you will win a Harley Davidson motorcycle! Some extra cash would come in handy whilst on holiday.

While on the lower level head to the right, where you can find the “Motown Café”.Keep walking and you will walk right up to it. There you will see Diana Ross and The Jackson Five collections, along with other great Motown artist! Their café is upstairs and they will seat you upon availability. Pictures are hanging on the walls as you are walking up the stairs.

There are more shops and restaurants located just to the south of the café.

Are you hungry? If you are in the mood for Mexican food, try “Gonzalez Y Gonzales” They are a fine Mexican Restaurant with an outdoor courtyard. There is a bar. Hours of operation: 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. 11:00 a.m.- midnight on Fridays and Saturdays only. For reservations call: 740-6455.

Not in the mood for Mexican food? There is always Chin Chin of New York Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. If you prefer not to have Mexican food, you can always try Chinese food? This is a favorite to many of us who love Chinese food. Serving a wide selection of entrees, appetizers and more. Prepared by their Chefs of expertise! Hours of operation: 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays until Midnight. To make reservations call 740-6300.

Don’t worry there are plenty more restaurants if you do not have an appetite for Mexican or Chinese food!

How does a nice juicy Steak sound, right about now? “Gallagher’s Steakhouse" is the oldest steak house establishment since 1927. They can be found here at New York Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Open nightly from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Call for reservations at, 702-740-6450.

Co-ed Health Spa? For those of you who feel the need to stay in fit! This is great for both men and women who want to work off all the food they just consumed. Doesn’t a whirlpool sound like fun? The men whirlpool has a steam and sauna in their spa and the women have a hydrotherapy tub! Additional services are available. From masks, body scrubs, clay body mask and more. Hours of operation: 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. daily. The public is welcome to come on Mondays through Thursdays. The facility fee is $20.00 per day. Number to call is 740-9441.

For the kids! Games and the arcade are located upstairs for the kids! If you have brought along the kids, this is a great place for them. Try observing your kids and watch how they revolve around the fun zone! Trying each and every game they can possibly hit in, 5 minutes? And this is only the first day! After all, you still have tomorrow.

Broadway Theatre: The theatre is the home of “Michael Flatley.” Lord of the Dance. Performing the traditional Irish Step Dance!
