Randy Moss Resigns with New England

March 4, 2008: The local media has estimated the deal to be in the range of $27 million over three years though terms were not officially disclosed.
In his partnership with Tom Brady, Moss helped the Patriots coast through their unbeaten through an unbeaten regular season to a Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants while piling up offensive records.
Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick was quoted on the team website “What Randy did for our team last year was outstanding.” “He is one of our most consistent, competitive and team-oriented players and it is undoubtedly a relationship we are excited to continue.”
A NFL veteran of 10 seasons, the record-setting Moss was traded to New England by the Oakland Raiders last April for a 2007 fourth round draft pick.
He had an electric debut season with the Patriots by catching 98 passes for 23 touchdowns and 1,493 yards. The 23 touchdowns were a NFL single season record.
In the game against Buffalo he caught a franchise record 4 touchdown passes.
On Moss’s official website (www.therealrandymoss.com) he announced, “I want to take time out to thank all of the fans for their support and for wishing me well in my return to New England.” Also “I’m ready to get back. We have some unfinished business to take care of.”
During his career Moss has played in 154 games while starting 148 with 774 pass receptions for 12,193 receiving yards and 124 touchdowns. He was a first round draft pick for the Minnesota Vikings in 1998.
His 12,193 receiving yards currently rank him 14th on the all time list and his 124 career touchdown receptions rank him fourth.
