With this surgery the size of the nose can be reduced, the bridge of the nose can be straightened for a better definition and the nostrils narrowed.
What are some normal consequences associated with the procedure?
- Moderate pain and discomfort for a minimum of two weeks.
- Swelling of the face, nose, eyelids and the upper lip.
- Nasal packing (stuffy nose), which will require mouth breathing.
- Dry and cracked lips and possibly a soar throat
- Bad breath for a period of ten days
- Blurred vision. The surgery may keep you for wearing eyeglasses or contact lenses for several days after the surgery.

- Tearing Eyes
- Nasal congestion, postnasal drip and scabbing of the inside of the nose
- Residual swelling of the nose that may take six months to a year to resolve.

Is the surgery painful?
Rhinoplasty is not a painful procedure, but it is bothersome for the first 24 hours after the surgery because there are internal bandages to control the bleeding. Patients will experience nasal obstruction for the first 3-6 days caused by the inflammation of the internal tissues due to surgery.
