Water Cars Are They Worth Considering
Date Added: August 03, 2008 02:59:56 AM

waterToday, a lot of those who have cars have chosen to take public transportation instead to cope with the exorbitant prices of gasoline.   There is also a substantial decrease in the sales of automobiles since the public can no longer afford to buy expensive gasoline. High prices of commodities are also an offshoot of the continued increases in oil prices.

Since fossil fuels are considered finite sources of energy, the urgent concern of most countries right now is to develop water cars, or hydrogen fueled vehicles. But are they worth considering?

With the trend pointing to the rolling out of water cars in the near future, one can say that opting for water cars is indeed a good investment. But since hybrid cars are quite expensive these days, those with a limited budget can however settle for the use of hydrogen generator devices to help them in maximizing their engine efficiency and save on fuel costs.

Hydrogen generator kits can be purchased for as low as $200 for the simple type, and up to $900 for the more complicated type. These kits can be easily installed by those who are knowledgeable about vehicle engines.

These hydrogen generator kits make use of the same principle behind water cars. They use the mechanical energy of hydrogen by separating the hydrogen and oxygen components of water, and forming what is known as HHO gas through electrolysis. With a HHO gas, a vehicle engine can realize better efficiency which results to greater savings on the part of the vehicle owner.

When a vehicle uses HHO gas in combination with a regular gasoline, the savings can be substantial. For instance, a normal traveler can save as much as $1000 in a year when using this hydrogen generator. Those who frequently use their cars can realize savings of up to $1500. The savings depend on the type of vehicle and hydrogen generator being used. Aside from maximizing engine efficiency, a hydrogen generator can also clean the engine, resulting to cleaner emissions. This is quite remarkable given the harmful emissions that vehicles are known to produce, which has caused our atmosphere to be polluted.

It is noteworthy to cite that the technology of water cars is a few years away from being fully consummated. Experts are still working on certain loopholes in the use of hydrogen as fuel. For instance, it is difficult to start the engine of a water car in freezing weather. Additionally, the fuel cell which is needed in electrolyzing hydrogen from water is very expensive and fragile. This device is not strong enough to withstand the bumps that vehicles encounter during long trips.  Likewise, it is hard to replace the refilling system of gasoline with hydrogen refilling stations without automobile manufacturers shelling out billions in dollars.

Expect the hydrogen fuel technology to be fully harnessed a couple of years from now. By that time, experts would have remedied the chemical disadvantages of using hydrogen for engines. And when that time happens, water cars would change the course of our history.
