There are various risk factors for pregnancy depending on the age, height and weight of the women. Pregnancy at the age of 15 can result in blood pressure issues that can last till delivery. Many times these will result in premature birth and a cesarean.
Women who weigh less than 100 kg before their pregnancy can have low wight babies and deliver the baby without any risk but if the weight of the women is greater then 100 kg they risk higher birth weight babies which are harder to deliver. The women who weigh more than 100 have a chance of experiencing gestational diabetes during pregnancy. Women who are less than 5 feet in height will have a very small pelvis and they will have higher risks in delivering baby.
An abnormal structure for the reproductive system can result in loss of pregnancy or abortion of the fetus. If a woman has problems during her first pregnancy then the same problem may reoccur during the next pregnancy.
Some of the common problems whicn occur during pregnancy include giving birth to pre-mature baby, abortion, loss of weight in the baby, high birth wieght babies which wiegh more than 10 pounds. Occassionally the health of women before pregnancy is also one of the reasons for the problems during pregnancy.
Multiple birth deliveries can cause excessive bleeding after delivery. Exposure of some chemicals, radiation, and the people who takes drugs or alcoholic substance have greater risk during their pregnancy for birth defects.
The drugs such as cocaine and marijuana will lead to pre-mature birth of baby and pre-mature of placenta which is being developed in the uterus during pregnancy.
Situations such as heart disease, problems related to kidney, blood pressure, diabetes and cancer can cause additional complications during pregnancy. Sexually transmitted diseases are one of the major causes for increased risk factors.
Some of the women may be affected by gestational diabetes during their pregnancy which can be cured after delivery but results in type 2 diabetes later. If the woman already has miscarriage and women had previous pregnancy problems will have greater risk during subsequent pregnancies.
Smoking and using illegal drugs during pregnancy is also causes additional risk factors during pregnancy. Using pills to avoid pregnancy could cause complications with the child or lead to the abortion of the baby or affect the growth of the fetus's organs.
