What is a Cesarean?
Cesarean is also known as c-section. About 27 percent of child births today are though the process of cesarean. It is a type of childbirth which is completed surgically. If the birth of the child is considered risky through the vaginal region the doctors may choose to deliver the child by cesarean. In this method the abdomen and the uterus of the pregnant women is opened surgically and the baby or babies are delivered.
Cesarean is also performed through the request of some people. The abdomen of the pregnant woman is opened horizontally above the hairlines of the pubic and vertically from the bell bottom and the uterus is opened horizontally from the lower part of the uterus.
The procedure of cesarean takes from 30 to 45 minutes and occassionally it takes up to an hour to complete. Delivery of baby takes only 10 to 15 minutes but for closing the uterus and abdomen takes the remaining time. The procedure of cesarean is increased from the past 30 years.
Approximately 30 percent of women give birth by cesarean. Cesarean helps to prevent the disease known as pelvis dysfunction. The procedure of cesarean is very painful and needs long term of hospitality. It is not safer than the birth through vaginal region. Cesarean can result in vaginal and urine infection. Urine infection is one of the most common complication from a cesarean.
A pre mature birth of child can result in cesarean and if cesarean is used once it is repeated in subsequent pregnancies. The procedure of cesarean is used if the baby is too large and cannot be delivered through the vagina or change in the position of baby.
Fetal distress and failure of labour also results in cesarean. A woman who had normal delivery or vaginal delivery has the chance of cesarean later. Infection in the vaginal region due to the sexual link is also one of the reasons for cesarean.
The procedure of cesarean is more convenient than the vaginal delivery because it does not take as much time when compared to the natural delivery.
The cesarean was first performed by a person called Apollo for his lover coronis and she was dead after delivery. It is considered to be a major operation and the pain during operation takes several days or weeks to recover from. There are several types of cesarean namely classical cesarean, emergency cesarean, crash cesarean and cesarean hysterectomy.
