Write Articles People Want To Read
Date Added: September 06, 2007 01:45:06 AM

If online success is what you want, then writing articles is one way to get there. Submitting your work to online publishers that allow you a link back to your site will help get you the traffic you are looking for. The links will also help you improve your search engine rankings. That can also help increase the traffic to your site.

To make it work, there is one catch. You need to write articles that people want to read. So what does it take to write a successful article?

The first thing to do is carefully select your subject. No need to spend a lot of time writing an article no one wants to read. Find out what is popular, what are people writing about?

When you have a subject to write about, don’t stop there. Break that one subject into several categories that you can write about. Let’s say your subject is real estate. You can easily divide that category into home buyers, home sellers, investors, renters, the mortgage industry and so forth. This will give you several topics to write several different articles on.

Now you need to focus in on your keywords. These are the words that grab the search engines attention, plus it allows you to stay focused while writing the article. So select your keywords and key phrases. You’re going to want one per category. This way if you have ten categories with ten keywords, you will have the makings of a hundred articles about the subject you chose.

Come up with a title that tells your readers what to expect in the article. Tantalize them a little, so it makes them want to continue on. Sometimes authors will use the title of the article to pose a question that makes readers want to know the answer.

The Article Summary you can write now or save until the end. This should tell the readers what they are going to find when they continue reading. This is a very important step and cannot be understated. Many readers will stop right here if they don’t like what they find. Make it vital, exciting and maybe with a bit of mystery.

Now you have done everything else, all you have to do is write it. Make the article about 400 to 700 words long. Remember the following tips though.

Keep the content current by doing your homework before writing it. You should check for all the latest news and updates on your chosen topic.

Just like a book has a beginning, middle and end, so should your article. Keep the paragraphs to about 2 or 3 sentences in length. You don’t want readers to stop before getting to the end because they got bored. Remember, your bio is going to be at the end.

Keep the article relevant to the topic you chose. Stay on topic and don’t wander. Make sure to work that key phrase or key word relevantly into the article.

Use short paragraphs with short sentences that are to the point. Keep the paragraphs to no longer than four sentences, but t2o or three are better.

By breaking your article into easy to read chunks it allows the readers to scan the article quickly if they don’t have time to read it all.

Keep to one idea per sentence and one subject per article. If you wander you tend to lose your readers.

Give your readers advice they can use and it above all everything should be spelled correctly with good grammar.

Now is the best part. The Bio is where you can write a short paragraph telling about yourself and promoting your website.

It should contain some brief information about yourself, what you do and which website you’re promoting. But don’t just stop at one Bio. You should have ten or twelve with slight variations. You should make sure they are worded differently and use different anchor text.

The reasons you want different Bios is because some people may read several of your articles. If all your Bios are the same they will quit noticing anything about them and the most important part becomes unnoticed.

Search engines do not like duplicate content, so you want to make your article posts as unique as possible. That way they will not discount your link as duplicate content.

Generating this many Bio’s may seem like a lot of work, but it really is not. If you just do it up front, the little extra effort will be well worth it.

By following these simple and basic rules when writing, your website will continue to grow in popularity. Plus you may just become recognized as an expert in your chose topic.
