7 Tips

1.    Make sure that you do not post the same article on your site that you submit to article directories as it more than likely trigger duplicate content filters in the search engines.  You should at a minimum make alterations to the article.

2.    Don’t attempt to clutter the article with links to your site.  Most article directories allow for no more than two links in the author resource box.  If you place more than that or put links in the article itself the chances of it getting approved drop significantly.

3.    Attempt to find a few article directories which relate to the content of your site.  Try to do a Google search using “(your keyword) submit article” which might return some good possibly places to submit your article.writing

4.    If you don’t want spam do not publish your email address with your article.  If you feel you must publish your email get a separate email address to use for this purpose only.

5.    Submit your article by hand and in your own name if you want it to get picked up by other big sites.  If you use a submission service chances for pick up decrease as they submit hundreds of articles using the same generic name.

6.    Make sure that you submit your article only to the most relevant category.  Submitting to incorrect categories decreases acceptance rates.

7.    Remember to submit articles consistently on a scheduled basis if you have to.  Submitting just one and stopping there will not get you anywhere.  You should set a goal to submit X number of articles per week and schedule the time in to do it every week.

 

7 Pros

1.    The ability to place a link back to your site in the author resource box helps to build the link popularity for your site.

2.    As you gain in link popularity your site should show improvements in search engine results.

3.    When high quality articles are submitted to article directories they have the possibility of going viral.  Meaning other sites can pick them up and republish that content with your author resource box on their sites creating even more links to your site.

4.    Publishing many quality articles can establish you as an expert on the topic and improve your reputation.  Encouraging additional visits to your site.

5.    A quality article can pique a reader’s interest and cause them to click on the link in the resource box which creates more traffic to your site.

6.    When the article submitted is keyword optimized with the content of your site the links created can be seen as more relevant by the search engines.

7.    Writing articles for submission is excellent practice for writing better content for your site.

 

7 Cons

1.    It is true that not everyone is a good writer.

2.    Submitting articles does take up a lot of time.

3.    To write high quality articles will take time for research.

4.    When you submit an article to an article site any search engine traffic that is generated to that article will go to that article site and not yours.  There is no guarantee they will click on the resource link to your site.

5.    Most of the article sites are not a trusted source of content by search engines so the links to your site may hold very little value.

6.    If you write a fantastic article wouldn’t you want the visitors to your site to read it?  If you submit it to an article site your readers will not see it.

7.    When you submit an article to an article site any links that are generated to that article are pointing to that article site and not yours.

    Very well written about article submissions …

    i too think the same at some point, y not post the quality articles on our site or blog instead of submitting to article directories. Our articles will point to our site and get benefit too … right frd.

    I still prefer the 7 article sites recommended by u as those are the Best and quality ones.
