A little know tool offered by MSN has made its way onto the scene. I know, I know you think I am making a typo on this, but seriously it is MSN.
The MSN Webmaster Tools is a place you can register your site to see its performance in the MSN search engine. The performance factors which MSN provides you with include sitemaps, statistics and indexing which all affect the search results of your website.
You will need to register for an account if you don’t already have one. Once you do that you will need to enter some site information and upload a meta tag to confirm your ownership much like Google.
Taking the time to do this is well worth it because it will give you some insight to making your website more visible in the MSN Search Results.
Once you have registered and confirmed your site ownership, MSN Webmaster Center will give you access to see the top ranked pages on your site according to MSN. You can upload the location of your sitemap and sign up for monthly newsletters designed for webmasters.
Keywords are an important consideration for any webmaster and MSN will tell you which pages of your website rank highest for specific keyword searches. In addition you will be able to see both the top inbound and outbound links for your website. All of which will help you in your efforts to promote your site and attract visitors.
The MSN Webmaster Tools is not quite as elaborate as Google’s Webmaster Tools in my opinion, but they do provide webmasters with good information that Google currently does not. MSN Webmaster Tools is still in BETA mode as of this post which means there may also be more to come.
It is worth checking out and once you do, please come back and let us know what you think.
