After a website or blog has been designed, built, and launched, the hard part of operating an online presence begins. No website can achieve its goals without effectively attracting visitors to it. The only way to attract visitors to a website is to have other sites, including search engines, link to it. Getting these backlinks to point at a website is a hard job for any website owner, although there are some methods that are more effective and accomplishable than others. When it comes to spreading the word about a website or blog, article marketing is one of the most widely accepted and effective ways of getting the job done.
The main problem with article marketing though is that sometimes in the beginning, but definitely after awhile, it can be hard for the website owner to come up with topics to write about. While the basic ideas of the subject can easily be written about, after those are covered it can be more difficult to find topics for future articles. Continuing to find topics to cover and write about thoroughly though is one of the best ways to utilize article marketing to its fullest extent.
Here are three great ways to continue coming up with unique ideas to write about and use for article marketing.
Yahoo Answers
There are a number of sites like Yahoo Answers online where people go to ask questions regarding information that they are needing. These sites are goldmines for the article marketer as they give insight into the specific things people want to know. There is no better way to target an article or blog post than to directly answer the questions and solve the problems that people are needing help with.
Online Forums
Message boards and online forums are another source where blog owners and website owners seeking to get ideas for content can turn to. Many people frequent online forums looking for help or direction in their struggles to solve everything from potty training their child to building a computer. A website owner needing ideas for articles they are planning on writing need only find a forum that caters to people interested in the subject of their site and see what questions those people are asking.
Blog Comments
There are a number of high quality and well crafted blogs online. Many of these blogs have a large number of frequent visitors who not only come back time and again to read what has been written by the blog’s owner, but also make comments and ask follow up questions through the blog’s commenting feature. Scanning these comments is another nice way to find out exactly what type of information people are seeking. When an article or other item of content is used to market a website and it specifically tackles pieces of information that people are looking for answers or advice on, half the battle is already solved when it comes to finding quality subjects to write about.
Utilizing these three methods of idea gathering, it should be rather easy for anyone to continue coming up with article ideas related to their site’s subject matter. While there are many times when a website owner may feel that they have truly exhausted all possible ways of coming up with new ideas, the power of using other sources for inspiration can solve even the worst csaes of writer’s block. This is not only a good way to come up with information that can work in the next article that a web marketer would like to write, but this is also a great way for the owner of a blog to come up with new ideas for blog posts too. Solving the problem of not knowing what to write about next when promoting a blog or website is of high value to most website owners.

These are great “idea” starters!
By using the words people are using in forums, blog comments and Yahoo answers, you’ll be using the words REAL people use to search for and find those answers as well. A DOUBLE BONUS!!!
Thanks for the tip!

Thanks Kathy! You made a great point with using the words real people use so you can rank for the more commonly used search terms.

Great article Bruce! The easiest to use is probably Yahoo Answers. There you don’t have to look around .. you can just click on the categories you are looking for. In fact I am looking around in Yahoo Answers at the moment.
I have to say these are great ideas and the best .. you can look at the article from your feed reader
Nice job Bruce
