Keywording is the single most important thing that you can learn to do to increase page views. Creating content to push page views for your website, or even a great affiliate product, is only effective if you properly keyword the content. To ensure that your content will be found in Google and other major search engines, you must learn to use the right number of keywords and in the right places. Fortunately, keywording is a skill that can be mastered with practice and perseverance.
One of the easiest ways to increase your page views is to learn this art they call keywording. What exactly is keywording though? Keywording is using phrases that are commonly searched for in the search engines to find content just like yours. These keywords are very important in your online writing style to reach a good page position with Google and other search engines. Writing keyword rich content is very important to maximize your page views.
To properly keyword your articles, you should focus on about a five percent application rate. This percentage is based on the total words in your content. In other words, you want about five percent of your total words to include the keyword(s) that you think will be searched for. Some people think that up to seven percent is okay, but I have found that five percent seems to be the “sweet spot” for maximum page views.
It is not enough to simply fit in the percentage of keywords. It is also important that you place the keywords in the right places. You should use your keywords once in the title, and at least three times in the opening paragraph. You should also use it a few times throughout the body of the article, and in the final paragraph. If your content uses subtitles, bullet points, or lists, then this is another great area to fit in your keyword phrase naturally and effectively.
Finding the right keywords for your article is a matter of practice. Â The question you need to ask yourself is, “What would someone search for in the search engine to find my article?” That would be your keyword or phrase. Â Be sure to take the time to consider many different combinations to find the best keywords for your content. Â It is a good idea to use several keywords or phrases per article, with the main keyword being the focus. Â
Building page views through keywording is one of many ways to build traffic. Â This skill is something that you would do well to learn, as it helps you get traffic naturally through the text. Â Anytime you can build your page views naturally, it is worth the effort. Â Once the article is written and properly keyworded, then the text itself will help you gain page views.

When top bloggers reveal the source of their traffic, the search engines are always the lion’s share! The way to capture the “attention” of the search engines is by using the RIGHT keywords!
Choosing the right keywords is definitely a mixture of art and science. In other words, it does take practice!

I find that one must be careful when using the keywords in their posts or the post won’t read well. That keyword keeps jumping out at the reader obviously letting one know the reason for stuffing, the post ends up full of the keywords. Good lesson for all of us. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for pointing out one of the dangers of using keywords. It is definitely there and I think that it comes down to the difference between good and bad writing.
A well written article will have keywords within it that flow within the article content which will not even be noticed by the reader. A poorly written article will have keywords which are very obvious.

You you just pointed out is a very practical example of using long tail keywords…things that would be practically searched by the masses (who are not technically minded).
Let me just chip in and add a few pointers myself. including keywords in h1, h2, tags also give increased favor with SE spiders. Do try to add emphasis (strong, bold) now and then to let the search engines know that your keywords are indeed relevant to the article.
Great post Bruce
You have managed to write something so relevant to us webmasters in a simple, down to earth tone. Thanks
